Spider Webs

by Terry Ann Braaten
(Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin USA)

You never cease to amaze me, God.
Each day there's something new,
as I venture out into the world
so beautifully made by You.

This morning it was the spider webs.
They were everywhere in my view.
All sparkling in the morning sun,
each strand filled with beads of dew.

The ground was covered with tiny ones
strung between blades of grass.
And, in all the trees there were larger ones
looking like they were made of glass.

Other days I didn't notice them.
The conditions weren't all in place.
But, this morning everywhere I looked
put a new smile on my face.
