by Cathy Collura
(Bayshore, New York USA)
Short in height, tall in stature
Wrinkly, gray-haired, a twinkle in her eye
Adorable to see.
Wisdom permeated her
Correcting grammar was her game.
School ended at Eighth grade
She was the smartest woman I know.
No one could replace her
Oh, I miss her so.
One more hug, one more dance
If only I had one more chance.
